Stewart worked for HMRC for almost 10 years, leaving to join Hays Allan in 1994. In 1997 Stewart moved to Saffery Champness, where he specialised in advising charities and voluntary sector organisations. Stewart was involved in taking a number of leading cases through the tribunal and court system, delivering significant VAT savings for clients.
Immediately prior to joining Constable VAT Consultancy as a partner in 2006, Stewart was VAT Director for Baker Tilly, East Anglia. Stewart has continued to advise our charity and not-for-profit clients on a wide range of VAT issues impacting upon their activities and VAT recoveries.
Stewart has many years experience advising charity clients on a wide-range of VAT issues across a large number of organisations operating in the sector. Recently, Stewart advised Greenisland Football Club in both its First Tier and Upper Tier Tribunal hearings.
Stewart is a supporter of local organisations and he has a particular interest in grass roots football, focusing on the positive benefits the sport brings participating at all levels of the game.
